XCVI Summer 2010

Last week I photographed the new Summer 2010 line for XCVI (click for site). Our plan was to shoot outside and spend a leisurely time taking photos. After checking the weather report every day for over a week, I didn't think there was any way it would rain. But there it was! At 8am when everyone was showing up at my place for hair and makeup, drops of water were coming down from the sky. Since we weren't prepared for this, my wonderful prop stylist Katie and I had to think quick. Katie brought all the props and set materials into my dining room. With the help of my wonderful assistants Isabella and Michelle, we created a magical forest right inside my dining room. All's well that ends well!

Here is the section of my dining room we used for the shoot....

Here is a photo taken with my iPhone during set up...

And here are some of the photos from the shoot (click to enlarge). You can find the rest of the retouched photos here: http://tamarlevine.com/photoblog/xcvi_summer10/ !

everyone is a photographer

From November's thisisaphotoblog assignment, "everyone is a photographer".

Eric Morris for UCLA Magazine

Here is a spread I shot for UCLA Magazine of urban planner Eric Morris! I love shooting with them, especially since we always have so much fun. This time we shot guerilla-style in Downtown LA. No permit, just a hand-held mini strobe, a tripod, and my 5D. Please click for larger version.
