M Line & XCVI Fall 08

I shot with XCVI again this week for their label called M Line, as well as some more XCVI Fall items. Final retouched photos to come but here are a few non-retouched, quickly-cropped pics. Also a little animation I made just for fun with the photos from our trampoline set up.

The Gray Kid

I shot my friend Steve (aka The Gray Kid) the other day for promo and website stuff. His friend let him borrow her 1964 Lincoln and we shot in the Hollywood Hills. It was quick and fun...

Ballerinas and....

I have been making a huge effort to take time out for personal work..I sometimes forget how fun it is to just shoot to shoot!

As part of my painting series (see an older post here for details), I recreated a couple pieces by one of my favorite artists, Degas. The below photos are pre-paint. I have my favorite painter (my incredibly talented mom) working on them now. The original works by Degas can be seen here and here.

I am really excited about this series. I have a total of six pieces done so far, in collaboration with three very talented painters. Below is a recreation of the Pieta by Michelangelo, in collaboration with painter Katie Crawford.

I am still working on my ongoing series on femininity. What started at Art Center as a series on Dominatrixs' (see here), has expanded. Many more photos to come.

And lastly another addition to my Characters of Hollywood Blvd series is pictured below. Pictured is Gerard portraying James Dean.

Let Them Eat Cake

I shot a fashion spread for Metro.pop, out now! This was a pretty difficult shoot as well. The day of the shoot the forecast was for bright and sunny skies. Instead we ended up with slightly rainy, high 40's. I felt sooo bad for poor Alli, the amazing redheaded model (and for my photo gear!). But I think it worked out with the muggy skies...it kind of fits the look of the shoot. Anyway the photos look great printed with the layout and everything so please check all major newsstands and bookstores for the Spring issue, #35. The story is towards the end of the mag, titled "Let Them Eat Cake".

Reebok

Issue #35 of Metro.Pop magazine is out right now on newsstands nationwide! Check my exclusive for Reebok in front of the mag. This was a pretty challenging shoot for me...It was my first editorial product shot. Coming up with an interesting concept was the hardest part, as I am used to working with models. Thanks Rob for helping me out with the graphic design!
